  • When The Amp Speaks Back: Victory’s Braille Panels

Stay tapped in. We want to tell you about something that hit us right where we live, as blind musicians.

Victory Amps, a company in the UK, got a message in November 2025 from a blind guitarist named Anthony Ferraro. He wanted to try one of their Duchess MKII combos. So Victory set themselves a quiet challenge: what if they made a braille panel for the amp they were sending him?

They didn’t just stick a label on it. They converted the front panel, and then the back panel, into braille, learning the rules as they went — how far apart the dots have to be, how close they can sit to other text and hardware, and how tall they have to stand. They used a UV printer set to emboss, and got the dots to 0.8 millimetres high, above the 0.5 minimum, so they dome up under your fingers. Put that together with the chicken-head knobs already on the Duchess, and Anthony could read his settings by feel alone.

Anthony didn’t know any of this was coming. As far as he knew, he was getting a stock amp. He even got his cover letter in braille. When it arrived in early January 2026, he filmed his unboxing, and that video has now been seen by about 40 million people.

Here’s why this matters beyond one amp. Victory learned from it, and now they offer a braille panel alternative for any amplifier in their current catalogue, as a factory direct order, at no extra cost, anywhere in the world.

That’s the standard we want to see. Accessibility isn’t an add-on you bolt on at the end. It’s the thing that lets a musician just play, without having to ask somebody else what every knob says.

If you want to look into it, enquiries go to info@victoryamps.co.uk, and the full story is on Victory’s site under the Victory Braille Initiative.
