Thrive Messenger Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 19, 2026

This policy covers the Thrive Messenger client distributed by TappedIn and the default service at im.tappedin.fm. Independent self-hosted Thrive servers are separate operators and must provide their own privacy information.

Information processed

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, deliver messages and files, relay calls, apply room and server permissions, prevent abuse, provide support, and maintain service reliability. Thrive Messenger does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information.

Voice calls

The default TappedIn server relays live call audio to current participants and does not intentionally retain call audio. Audio is processed only while the call is active. A self-hosted server may have different practices.

Retention and control

Room owners and server administrators can configure room expiration, message retention, moderation, and file limits. Account and security records may be retained as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Requests concerning the default service can be made through the privacy choices page.

Security and transfers

The client uses TLS to connect to compatible servers. No system can guarantee absolute security. Information is processed where the selected server and its service providers operate.

Children

The default service is not directed to children under 13. Server operators are responsible for age requirements that apply to their communities.
